The ÄAppO stipulates the requirements for the clinical practicum—“Introduction to Clinical Medicine.” The training must be conducted on a “scientific basis and be practice- and patient-oriented.” The practicum is intended to bridge the gap between preclinical and clinical studies. Patient-oriented instruction must already be incorporated at this early stage of training. This clinical-propaedeutic internship takes place in the 3rd and 4th semesters.
